in conjunction with BARNET COMMUNITY FAYRE
please visit 3 Barnet Guild of Artists exhibitions happening this weekend.

(1) The ice cream parlour BEL GELATO is showing the artwork of professional artist Simon Ellinas.
(2) The old ‘New Look’ shop next door to Waterstones is now showing the wonderful Art to Music exhibition of Dan Kirshner.
(3) At the back of the cosy The Mitre pub, where you can have a glass of mulled wine in this ambient Christmassy setting, is showing the beautiful and fine detailed paintings of animals by artist Ruth Goodman.
”Please come and support your local art group. As you are aware our studio is under threat and we want to show the Barnet residents just what we’re made of….. If you’re interested in joining us, please get in touch with us via our website address.

Barnet Guild of Artists is an active association of amateur and professional artists.

Founded in 1948 to provide facilities for the practice of the visual arts, and to encourage the appreciation and understanding of them, it continues to offer a valuable focus for the activities of many local artists.

The Studio

The Guild is especially fortunate in having its own studio as a base for its activities.

The studio is equipped with easels and tables for practical work and is also used for meetings and socials. In summer, the pleasant rural surroundings offer the option of working outside, direct from nature. At other times there are materials for still life, and a small but growing library of art books, magazines, and videos provides further ideas and inspiration. Groups of members meet to paint at the studio every weekday. It is also the venue for Saturday tutorials and life classes, and monthly demonstrations.

Annual Exhibition

Held for two weeks every summer at a local church hall, this is a major showcase for members work.

Tuesday Demonstrations

The programme of monthly evening meetings includes demonstrations, criticisms, and lectures.
